its part 1 of 2871946231 of my quest to educate you guys in the world of music. (lol.)

ok i'll start off with the latest album i just downloaded

Sasha - Involver

Publisher: Global Underground
Genre: Progressive House/Breaks
Year: 2004

Ok i'll kick this review off with an exclamation of Sasha's ever-growing creativity. From the man who has initially started out with trance as his main aural food has delved into other areas like prog, house, techno, breaks and so on. Establishing himself as one of the leading DJs in the industry today, he does not disappoint with this mix of prog house that has just been released.

Leading the pack in this mix is Grandnational's Talk Amongst Yourselves. It starts out with a slow, mellow lazy groove that has the bass moving at a jazzy move. before you know it, Shpongle's Dorset Perception takes the listener on a trippy, yet funked out latin groove on the accoutic guitars that play in the background. Sasha then takes UNKLE's What You Mean To Me on a road trip. infusing an upbeat melody which mixes well with the lost-boy vocals of the track. DJ Spooky's Belong then ups the ante on the mix by starting off with just a bass line, before unleashing an aural assault on the listener with all the other efx that's been placed. Felix Da Housecat's Watching The Cars Go delivers the punch with a strident vocal wrapped around a frenzy of beats and music. rounding out the mix, Ulrich Schauss's On My Own then ends the mix with a beat barrage that's like no other.

Talk about groove. Sasha shows his versatility in this mix and yet retains his style without tripping over others.
