what is love?
according to
dictionary.com,
love is
1. a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
2. a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection.
how do you determine an affection for another human being?
is it the amount of time spent together?
or is it the bond that exists between two people?
is it acertained by the length of the relationship?
or for that matter does love at first sight even exist?
maybe to be in love is for 2 people to see with one vision on a wide spectrum of issues.
there maybe disagreements with regards to certain things.
but there is a certain degree of affirmation that no matter what happens the other party will still be standing by your side.
i'm not writing this in response to what has happened in the last few days.
but rather towards all the happenings that have taken place in the last 21 years of my life.
especially with regards to the last 6 months that have just past.
maybe love is just a compulsive feeling for one to get company in order not to be lonely.
a rash, hot-headed feeling that one thinks he/she needs to fulfill.
most of the time, this squeeze of the heart is often ignored by us.
we choose to think that these urges are something that needs to be supressed.
lest we get ourselves head over heels into the unknown and fall flat on our faces.
but i beg to differ.
i do believe in love at first sight.
i believe in the kindred connection that takes place when you talk to the person for a few times.
it may seem incredulous, yes.
but in a world where miracles do take place.
to quote adidas and their oh so brilliant marketing tagline:
nothing is impossibleno don't worry,
im not about to embark on that emo phase which has gripped me the last six months.
emo-ing isn't even worth half the time that's been spent on.
life is about moving forward.
its about knowing that after a fall or and injury you can pick yourself up and start to run again.
to quote a friend of mine:
"in life we all fall down. sometimes we may fall from a higher place, or from a lower distance. but the process where we pick ourselves off from the ground is all the same"i can't help but to agree with val and what she writes on her blog.
love, in all its many forms, is just oh so overrated.
dun worry b, back of my heart, your still there. =)
